When I started planning our summer vacation, the one thing my husband said we need to invest in is travelers insurance. I didn’t comment at the time, but I remember thinking that we really didn’t need something like that, because we had health insurance. A few days after that, I was talking to my best friend about the trip and telling her about the deals that I’d found online for the trip. We are all planning the trip together so we’ve all been doing a little research here and there, so I mentioned to her what my husband said about the importance of travelers insurance. She agreed with him. She said that they never travel without it, and they’ve found that the best prices can be found not at the travel agency but online. She said you never know when you will need the travelers insurance, and because the rates were so reasonable online, it’s better to be safe than to find out you need it and don’t have it. She had a point, so it looks like when we leave for our trip, we’ll also be amongst those who can say they have travelers insurance.

Several years ago my husband and I went on an extensive vacation and didn’t even think about the possibilities of needing travel insurance. Unfortunately while we were on the trip, my husband broke his leg and we had a few medical expenses that needed to be taken care of. When we got home, the first thing my mother asked was if we had travel insurance to help offset the costs, and I had to explain to her that we hadn’t even thought about it when we booked the vacation.
Needless to say it was a lesson learned and since that time we’ve never traveled again without travel insurance. I know that many people tend to think that the prices are outrageous, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have good friends whose son and daughter-in-law are going to visit Ireland real soon. I have always wanted to see
My parents have always bought travel insurance before going overseas anywhere on vacation. They were especially vigilant about buying travel insurance when my sister and I were children. As it turned out my parents were wise to get travel insurance. I vividly recall the time my parents took my sister and I to Benidorm, which is a popular resort on the Costa Blanca in Spain. My grandparents went on that trip and so did my aunt, uncle and three cousins Amanda, Alison and Joanne. On the first day there I raced my cousin Joanne up the slippery marble steps by the hotel pool. I slipped and smashed both of my incisors, which had just grown in. My parents had to take me to a dentist in Benidorm and if they had not had travel insurance then this visit could have taken a serious dent out of the spending money they had taken with them for the vacation. That was not the only accident that happened while we were on vacation. My mother once passed out in an elevator due to dehydration and she smashed her face up. Experience has taught me that accidents have a habit of happening on vacations. That is why I will never go overseas without travel insurance. 
My friend told me of an old co-worker we used to work with and his ordeal while in the Cancun, Mexico recently. He loved Mexico and traveled down there with his wife numerous times before. This recent trip was like all their other trips to Mexico, except on this one, he got extremely ill while there. He had some sort of bad infection and he probably shouldn’t have been traveling in the first place. Needless to say, they lost all there reservations money and had to pay extra for the changing of flights, so this vacation cost them a bundle. They didn’t have cheap travel insurance. I don’t think they ever did the numerous times they have been to Mexico. He turned out to be ok, but it took him awhile to feel 100 percent. I know now that they will definitely compare travel insurance and purchase some travelers insurance for any future trips anywhere. I feel bad about his getting ill and I am sure all the money they lost, made him feel worse. Traveling anywhere these days, it pays to have travelers insurance, you just never know.]]>
I have two sets of good married friends who travel abroad every few years or so. They are all very adept on finding the best travel deals and planning their itinerary. Whether they are cruising, going to a beautiful island or sightseeing to different cities and countries, the one added cost, which they will not go without is travelers insurance. They both tell me that when you go online and compare travel insurance, you can find some cheap travel insurance. This insurance just makes your trip abroad more reassuring and one less thing to worry about. I am happy to say, neither one of my friends have ever had to use it, but this is something that they will not go without. They have heard too many of their friends who have gotten sick or had to cancel their trip because of family emergencies and lost quite a bit of money in the process. When you go online and do your homework, travel insurance is well worth the little cost for unforeseeable problems that could come up.
